Preserve what works.
Build what's next.

We acquire established UK service businesses and invest in growing them. The team, the name and the customer relationships stay. What changes is the pace.

Who we are

The next chapter of growth, not a change of character.

StewardPath Holdings is a private investment company. We buy profitable, established businesses in essential services - the maintenance, testing, inspection and compliance work that keeps buildings running - and we back them to grow.

Most of what makes a business like this valuable is already in place: the engineers, the customer relationships, the reputation for turning up when it matters. That is what we preserve. What we add is what an owner-run business is usually short of - capital for equipment and hiring, systems that hold up at three times the size, and the management bandwidth to go after growth rather than firefight.

Our aim is a business that is materially larger and better run than the one we bought. That is the whole plan.

We do not operate to a fixed exit timetable. There is no fund clock deciding what happens to your business in year three, which means growth decisions get made on the business's merits rather than against someone else's deadline.

What we look for

Straightforward businesses, honestly run.

If most of these describe your business, it is worth a conversation. If one or two do not, it is still worth a conversation - we would rather hear from you than screen you out on paper.

Essential services
Maintenance, testing, inspection and compliance work that customers need rather than choose.
Recurring revenue
Contracted or reliably repeating service work that renews year after year.
Established and profitable
A trading history of several years and consistent profitability. Turnaround situations are not our strength.
Room to grow
A business held back by capacity, capital or time rather than by its market.
A team that stays
Engineers, managers and office staff who want to carry on and take on more.
An owner ready to step back
Retirement, succession, or simply wanting the next chapter to belong to someone else.

How a sale works

Four steps, and you will know where you stand at each one.

Selling the business you built is not something you do twice. Here is the sequence, so none of it is a surprise.

01

Initial conversation

A call or a coffee, in confidence, with nothing signed. You tell us about the business. We tell you honestly whether it is a fit and what we think it is worth talking about. Plenty of conversations end here, and that is a fine outcome.

02

NDA and business review

We sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement, then review a defined set of information: accounts, the contract base, customer mix and how the team is organised. Enough for us to assess the business properly and put a number on it. This is not full diligence and it does not need to disrupt your week.

03

Offer, exclusivity and diligence

We set out an offer in writing, with the price and the structure in plain terms. If you accept it, we agree a period of exclusivity and complete due diligence across the financials, the legal position and the commercial picture. Your staff and customers do not need to know until you decide to tell them.

04

Share purchase agreement

Solicitors document the deal in an SPA covering price, warranties and any deferred consideration. Alongside it we agree the handover that suits you, whether that is a clean break or a period working with the incoming management. Then we complete.

The people behind it

You will deal with the owners, not an associate.
